EssenceMediacom Appoints Vivek Das As Managing Partner, MFG (Google) Lead – India & SEA

EssenceMediacom, the media agency under GroupM, has appointed Vivek Das as the new Managing Partner and MFG (Google) Lead for India and Southeast Asia (SEA). Based in the Delhi office, Das will spearhead Google's growth journey for the agency in these regions.

EssenceMediacom Appoints Vivek Das As Managing Partner, MFG (Google) Lead – India & SEA

EssenceMediacom, GroupM’s media agency, has appointed Vivek Das as the new Managing Partner and MFG (Google) Lead for India and Southeast Asia (SEA). Das is set to drive Google’s growth journey out of EssenceMediacom’s Delhi office.

Das takes over from Vinish Mathews, who is now Chief Strategy Officer at Mindshare. Das, with years of experience in digital and integrated marketing, has held prominent positions at various organisations. He has managed high-profile clients such as Airtel, Nokia, Ford, Disney Star, PepsiCo, and Hindustan Unilever.

In his last role, he was associated with Zoo Media Group as FoxyMoron’s CEO. Before joining FoxyMoron in February 2023, he worked with Mindshare for more than seven years across various roles ranging from Principal Partner and Head- Digital (North & East), to Principal Partner and Client Leadership, to WPP Client Lead- PepsiCo (Beverages).

In July 2020, he was elevated to the role of VP and Head- Digital (West) at Mindshare, followed by VP and Business and Digital Head- Disney Star India a year later and finally as VP and Head- Consulting, Data, Analytics and Tech.

Prior to Mindshare, Das was the Vice President and Head- Digital Strategy at Omnicom Media Group from February 2015 to November 2015.

Earlier on, he was also associated with Wunderman for a period of five years across various roles such as Business and Strategy Lead- Nokia, Digital Strategy and Solutions Lead, Business and Strategy Lead- Ford and VP- Digital and CRM (WPP Global Team Ford) between December 2009 and December 2014.

In the past, he also worked with ISHIR Digital, Webchutney, BC Web Wise, vAngelz Technologies, BOSS International and vCustomer Services & Estel Communications.

In addition to his professional achievements, he is a mentor to early-stage founders and an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
