Britannia has appointed Varun Berry as CEO in addition to his current roles as Executive Vice-Chairman and Managing Director with immediate effect from May 8, 2025, according to the company’s BSE filing.
Berry joined the company as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 2013 and at present, he is the Executive Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of the Company. Prior to Britannia, he was associated with PepsiCo both in India and overseas.
Earlier in his career with PepsiCo, Berry served as the Chief Operating Officer of Vietnam from July 2000 to September 2001. In this capacity, he was responsible for overseeing the company’s operational footprint in one of Asia’s fastest-growing consumer markets.
After that, he held the position of Country Manager for PepsiCo in the Philippines from October 2001 to February 2010. Over this extended period, he played a critical role in stabilising and expanding PepsiCo’s market presence in the country.
Later on, he started as Chief Executive Officer of International Dairy & Juice (IDJ), a strategic joint venture between PepsiCo and Almarai. From April 2009 to December 2010, he spearheaded this collaboration from Dubai, overseeing operations across the Middle East, Africa, the Indian sub-continent, and Southeast Asia.
Berry has an experience of over 38 years with premier companies like Hindustan Unilever and a successful track record in leading Startups, Joint Ventures and growing Businesses. He is also on the Board of several leading companies.
