Ad Campaigns By WhatsApp Over The Years

The role of WhatsApp in getting the world closer, and communicating faster and effectively is undeniable. Regularly providing updated versions, newer features and an exceptional worldwide connectivity bringing families, friends and loved ones closer, this messaging service has proved to be a true boon in recent times.

In fact, one cannot agree more, that ‘WhatsApp’ is now synonymous with the word ‘message’.

Here is a look at the top WhatsApp campaigns launched in India in the past few years.

1. Share joy, Not Rumors

WhatsApp advocated prevention of spreading fake news, information and rumors. With their ‘Share Joy Not Rumors’ campaign, WhatsApp encouraged its users to use the messaging platform responsibly.

The campaign showed a series of ads featuring everyday situations and how should one handle if confronted with fake information.

2. It’s Between You

Considered to be WhatsApp’s first brand campaign in the country. The messaging platform through this campaign brought forth how people communicate with their loved ones everyday and how WhatsApp keeps it private just between them.

It brought out WhatsApp’s proposition as being a safe space between two people to communicate safely.

The campaign featured two heart-warming ads. One between an elderly lady and her caretaker who are separated, and the second one had a younger sister convince her elder one to go for that much-wanted haircut.

3. Stay Safe with Payments on WhatsApp

The ‘Scam Se Bacho’ campaign was launched to create awareness regarding safety measures that need to be implemented while making online payments.

With an endearing background score based on a popular Bollywood song- “Ae Bhai, Zara Dekh Ke Chalo”, depicting everyday real-life situations, the ad campaign educated users to stay alert in all possible situations that can lead to them becoming a victim of digital payment scams.

4. Message Privately

Two brilliant ads made way on screens under the Message Privately campaign by WhatsApp.

One ad had an elderly couple celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary shying away from public display of affection, feel better on exchanging their thoughts through WhatsApp.

The second one has a mother-daughter duo, privately celebrating an important moment in the daughter’s life, while there are guests waiting in another room clueless about the
daughter’s win.

Both the ads conveyed how the messaging platform is privacy-driven, re-enforcing itself as a safe space for everyone who choses to share their personal moments and thoughts through it.

5. Your Privacy, More Protected

This campaign built up on the older campaign ‘Message Privately’.

It has a series of ads that highlighted on interlocking layers of protection offering more privacy and control on one’s conversations while messaging, verification, online presence and much more.
