Mumbai and UP Police Publish Post About Imp Of Consent in Balam Pichkari Jo “Without Consent” Mujhe Maari

People in India celebrate Holi on Wednesday after completing Holika Dahan the previous evening. Some posted amusing messages about the occasion on social media as others stocked up on gulal and armed themselves with balloons and pichkaris in preparation for the celebrations.

But among all the joy, there is one crucial element that some of us sometimes overlook: consent. Police departments from Mumbai & Uttar Pradesh (UP) used social media to consider the importance of how “consent” matters during such celebrations.

Balam Pichkari jo “without consent” mujhe maari…toh 1090 pe calling ho gayi,” which means as “If someone throws water or colours without your consent, contact 1090 (the police helpline number),” was the message on a meme that the UP Police tweeted. Also, the post’s text underlined the importance of consent while wishing everyone a joyful Holi.

Mumbai Police and the UP Police shared an insightful post.
