The Hurun Research Institute recently released the list of the top self-made women billionaires. And this time, Falguni Nayar, Nykaa’s founder, from India has entered in the top ten’s list. The top ten, include 8 women from China, one woman each from US and UK and one Indian.
There are 124 self-made women billionaires from 16 countries, China having 78 billionaires out of them. Along with Falguni Nayar, two other Indian women-Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw at 26th position and Zoho co-founder Radha Vembu at 25th position, also feature on the list.
Average age of women on the list is 59 years.
With three new entrants in the top ten, here is the list.
1. Falguni Nayar and Zhao Yan
A new entrant from India, 59-year old Falguni Nayar is the owner, founder and CEO of beauty and lifestyle retail company-Nykaa. With a net worth of $7,6 billion, she is the richest self-made woman billionaire in India and the tenth richest self-made woman in the world.
Sharing the rank and the same number in net worth, is 55-year old Zhao Yun, the Chairman of Hong Kong based Bloomage Biotechnology, that makes hyaluronic acid, a key ingredient in anti-aging creams.
2. Zhou Qunfei
Founder of Lens Technology, a touchscreen maker, Zhou Qunfei started her business in 1993. Her company went public in 2015, and is a major supplier to Samsung, LG, Microsoft and Nokia. With $7.8 billion as her net worth, the Chinese entrepreneur is at number 9 on the richest self-made women billionaire in the world.
3. Cheng Xue
Cheng Xue is the vice Chairman of soy sauce maker Foshan Haitian Flavoring of China, and holds 9% stake in the same. With $7.9 billion in net worth, she is the eight richest self-made woman billionaire.
4. Denise Coates
The founder, majority shareholder and joint Chief Executive of online gambling company Bet365, Denise Coates from United Kingdom, is seventh on the list, with a net worth of $8.2 billion. She is one of the wealthiest women in Britain.
5. Diane Hendricks
Diane is an American billionaire businesswoman and film producer from Wisconsin, United states. The widow of Ken Hendricks, she now chairs ABC Supply one of the largest wholesale distributors of roofing, siding and windows in America. Her net worth amounts to $9 billion, placing her sixth on the list.
6. Chen Lihua
Chen Lihua is the founder and chairman of Fuwah International Group, one of Beijing’s largest commercial property developers. Her company owns buildings in some of the capital’s exquisite locations. Her net worth is $9.2 billion, making her the fifth richest self-made women billionaire in the world.
7. Zhong Huijuan
Having found her company Jiangsu Hansoh Pharmaceuticals with just 10 employees, the former chemistry teacher, is the fourth richest self-made women billionaire in the world. With a net worth of $10 billion, she is the matriarch of her company, and is often compared to Walter White, the Breaking Bad series protagonist, minus the criminal part.
8. Wang Laichun
Wang Laichun is the chairwoman and co-founder of electronics manufacturer Luxshare Precision Industry Co Ltd, which was found in 2004 in Dongguan, China. The company designs and makes computer cables, and is a major assembler of Air Pods for Apple. Her net worth is $ 11 billion, making her the third richest billionaire on the list.
9.Fan Hongwei
Fan Hongwei, the Chinese entrepreneur and billionaire who is the chairperson and CEO of the chemical fiber company Hengli Petrochemical and vice chairman of its holding company Hengli Group, is second on the list. Her net worth amounts to $13 billion.
10. Wa Yajun
Wa Yajun is the richest self-made woman billionaire in the world, with net worth of $17 billion. She is the co-founder, chairwoman, and former CEO of Longfor Properties and also has investments in companies like Uber and Evernote.
