Recently, the Indian Film industry has been finding itself in many controversies. Many controversies may come and go but one topic has always stayed which is Nepotism.

There have been many actors who come from a family of actors and producers and have today established themselves as well. Some credit their talent while some consider this as nepotism. The debate is never-ending.

However, there have been many star kids who despite having the advantage of having a launch, chose to establish themselves as entrepreneurs. Many tried their hand in acting while some chose to stay away from it as much as possible.

Though the list is long, here are 7 ‘star kids’ who chose to be successful entrepreneurs instead.

Ekta Kapoor

The queen of the television industry, Ekta Kapoor, has made a name for herself. She is no longer known as the daughter of Jeetendra or sister of Tusshar Kapoor. She founded Balaji Telefilms in 1994 which produced the majority of the daily soaps across television.

In 2017, she launched the OTT platform, ALT Balaji, which has released many successful movies and web series At the age of 36, Ekta was featured in Forbes Asia Power Businesswomen’s list 2012 as reported by Hindustan Times.

Ekta Kapoor has been awarded with the Icon of Excellence award at Forbes Tycoon of Tomorrow and with the Most Powerful Business Women of the Year at Fortune India Awards.

Twinkle Khanna

Daughter of one of the most celebrated actors in the Indian Film industry, Rajesh Khanna & Dimple Kapadia, Twinkle Khanna had little success in the movie industry.

She got to work in many mainstream movies but they sadly did not do well. Though the actor has no regrets looking back. Instead, in many interviews, Twinkle Khanna has been heard saying how she is glad it did not work out.

Today, Twinkle Khanna has many feathers in her cap. From being a published author, newspaper columnist, interior designer, and even a film producer, Khanna has done it all. As per reports, Twinkle Khanna is worth $30 Million.

Shweta Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan’s eldest daughter, Shweta Bachchan is an Indian columnist, author, and former model. She has worked as a columnist for Daily News, Analysis, and Vogue India. Shweta is also the author of the bestselling novel Paradise Towers.

In 2018, Shweta Bachchan launched her own fashion label, MXS. As of 2020, her net worth is estimated to be approx $8 million.

Rhea Kapoor

Rhea Kapoor is the daughter of the veteran actor Anil Kapoor and sister of Sonam Kapoor. Rhea is a renowned Indian film producer and also co-owns a fashion line with her sister Sonam by the name of, Rheson.

Riddhima Kapoor Sahani

Surrounded by many talented actors from parents to siblings, Riddhima Kapoor Sahani, daughter of Rishi Kapoor & Neetu Kapoor is a brand in herself.

Riddhima is a leading celebrity fashion designer and entrepreneur. Based in Delhi, she also co-owns her personal jewelry line called R Jewellery.

Tusshar Kapoor

Tusshar Kapoor, son of veteran actor Jeetendra, did try his hand with acting first. From Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, Khakee, Kyaa Kool Hai Hum, Dhol, to Shootout at Wadala, Tusshar has worked on many projects throughout his career. However, it was the Golmaal Franchise that worked wonders for his career.

The actor has also started a production house by the name of ‘Tusshar Entertainment House‘. Tusshar’s net worth is estimated at $14 million approximately.

Uday Chopra

Son of one of the most celebrated directors, Yash Chopra, Uday Chopra started his career in the Indian Film Industry as an actor. However, his true success came behind the camera when he started his own production company YRF Entertainment. As of 2021, Uday’s net worth is estimated at $6 million.

Mother Dairy is targeting a 20% increase in revenue to over Rs 24,000 crore in FY27, backed by rising consumer demand and plans to expand into new markets, according to media reports. As per media reports, the dairy major recorded a turnover of Rs 20,300 crore in FY26, up 17% year-on-year. The company has more than doubled its revenue over the last five years, crossing the Rs 20,000-crore milestone. As part of its growth strategy, Mother Dairy is looking to strengthen its presence outside Delhi-NCR. Chairman Meenesh Shah said the company is exploring entry into new markets where it currently has limited or no presence. The company is also setting up a dairy plant in Maharashtra, has leased a facility in Hyderabad, and is establishing a second plant in Bihar. Managing Director Jayateertha Chary said sales in the first two months of the fiscal have been encouraging, with ice cream emerging as a strong-performing category. Reports also suggest that from Mother Dairy’s FY26 turnover, the dairy business contributed more than Rs 15,000 crore, while edible oils and horticulture accounted for around Rs 5,000 crore. Around 63% of revenue came from Delhi-NCR, with the remainder generated from other parts of the country. The company currently reaches more than 95 cities across India and operates nine milk processing plants, four horticulture processing plants and 16 associated edible oil facilities.
