Quite recently, subscribers to an HBO Max mailing list received an e-mail that was rather odd from the online streaming service. While HBO Max clarified soon enough that it wasn’t a new show coming out soon, the mail caught the attention of fellow netizens.
Across America and a few in the UK, users received an email with the subject line “Integration Test Email #1″. The body of the mail read: “This template is used by integration tests only.”
HBO Max tweeted out an apology to its subscribers for the gaffe stating that it was the mistake of an intern as the memes and jokes went rife.
We mistakenly sent out an empty test email to a portion of our HBO Max mailing list this evening. We apologize for the inconvenience, and as the jokes pile in, yes, it was the intern. No, really. And we’re helping them through it. ❤️

This mistake turned out to gain HBO Max quite many eyeballs with everyone sharing their stories when they were interns. And some of them are quite hilarious, to say the least! Known personalities also joined in the discussion and shared their goof-ups with everyone. The trend soon caught on and has every laughing to their wits, sharing the most relatable stories. Everyone is trying to show support to the intern who goofed up at HBO Max, showing their support and communicating that it definitely gets better with time. The hashtag, #DearIntern has gotten quite famous with everyone comforting the poor intern.
Dear Intern, I was using my desktop calendar to make a monthly note of when I started my menstrual period, but after several months I realized I was making that note on a calendar I shared with all of my colleagues company wide. I was 37 years old.

I forgot to mention that we worked in an open plan office, so I got to see the chaos play out in real time. It was glorious.

HBO Intern, you are breathtaking! I mean it! Congrats on making your first big mistake. It's like a right of initiation for us developers

Dear Intern, as a young lawyer I proof read a legal brief and filed it with the court. I caught a typo and blindly used the global find and replace function. Pro tip: don't do that. My brief argued for the rights of "the panties." Not "the parties." All 50 pages of it. 🤦🏻♀️🩲🩲 https://t.co/PDJYMXuOlw

Dear intern, for the first two months of being admin we thought this was a rose emoji 🌷. So every D-Rose post had a tulip instead.

"Integration Test Email #1" has gotten HBO more views than anything else they've produced since Game of Thrones ended… pic.twitter.com/SBjYGvbFWu

Have you ever faced any instances like this while interning at an organisation?
