Every big thing starts with something small, the successful companies we see today took decades of hard work to reach where they are today. Companies such as Google, Amazon, and Apple started off with creating an online bookstore, a computer, and a search algorithm. 1. Apple
Steve Jobs started Apple with Steve Wozniak in 1976, after getting a demand for 50 computers of Wozniak’s designed Apple I Computer at $500. Jobs and Wozniak completed this task in only 30 days. They did this at Steve’s parents’ garage in Cupertino, California.
2. Disney
Walt Disney and his brother Roy started The Walt Disney Company in their uncle’s garage in Los Angeles back in the year 1923.
3. Microsoft
Bill Gates and Paul Allen founded Microsoft in a small garage in Albuquerque, New Mexico and had very little resources to work with.
4. Hewlett-Packard
Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard started HP in Packard’s garage in 1939. The Hewlett-Packard Garage in Palo Alto is now known as the birthplace of Silicon Valley and HP is now one of the most popular tech company in the world.
5. Dell
Like Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerburg, Michael Dell is also a college dropout who founded a big company in the computer business. Michael started designing customized computers from his garage in 1964. Today, Dell has a net worth more than $50 billion.
6. Amazon
Jeff Bezos, who is currently one of the richest man alive started Amazon as an online bookselling store from his home garage in Bellevue, Washington.
7. Google
The most popular search engine we know today also originated from a garage. Larry Page and Sergey Brin rented a garage in Menlo Park California from one of their colleagues named Susan Wojcicki. Susan is now is now the CEO of video sharing platform Youtube.
8. Harley Davidson
William S. Harley started Harley Davidson with his childhood friend in a 15-foot wooden shed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Founded in 1903, today it is the most known motorcycle brand in the world.
9. Nike
The founders of Nike didn’t manage to own a garage to start. Nike was started in 1964 in the trunk of a car. Phil Knight used to make Nike shoes and his university coach Bill Bowerman tested them on runners.
