Uber has appointed Arpit Tyagi as Head of Advertising in India, as the ride-hailing company strengthens its advertising business and expands partnerships with brands, agencies and marketers in one of its fastest-growing markets.
The appointment comes as Uber Advertising enters its next phase of growth in India with the establishment of a dedicated India-based advertising team. Tyagi will lead the team, supported by Uber Advertising’s regional and global leadership, as the company deepens its investment in the market.
In his new role, Tyagi will oversee Uber Advertising’s commercial strategy and operations in India, driving the growth of the company’s advertising solutions. He will also work on helping brands engage consumers during high-intent, real-world moments across the Uber platform.
Tyagi brings over 15 years of experience across advertising, media, marketing technology and digital transformation. Before joining Uber, he served as Director, Enterprise Sales at The Trade Desk, where he led strategic partnerships with some of India’s largest advertisers and agencies.
Prior to that, he spent the majority of his career at Amazon, working with brands and agencies as part of Amazon Ads, helping them leverage retail media, data-driven marketing solutions and customer-centric innovation to drive business growth.
The appointment underscores Uber’s growing focus on building its advertising business in India as it looks to strengthen its engagement with advertisers and unlock new revenue opportunities beyond its core mobility platform.
Commenting on the appointment, Michael Levine, Head of APAC Sales, Uber Advertising, said, “India is one of the most dynamic and exciting advertising markets in the world, and Uber is uniquely positioned to help brands connect with consumers at moments that matter. Arpit brings a strong understanding of the evolving advertising ecosystem, and a proven track record of building high-performing businesses. “Consumers today expect relevance, convenience and meaningful experiences. Uber sits at the intersection of people’s everyday movements and decisions, creating unique opportunities for brands to engage audiences in highly contextual and measurable ways.
