Tushar Vyas has stepped down from his role as Chief Strategy Officer, India at WPP, bringing to a close a 25-year association with the advertising and media network.
Vyas has announced his departure from WPP through a LinkedIn post, where he reflected on his 25-year journey with the organisation and shared that he will now focus his efforts on academia, the startup and innovation ecosystem, and the social impact sector.
Prior to serving as Chief Strategy Officer, India at WPP from January 2023 to June 2026, Vyas has held multiple leadership positions within the group. He has served as President, GroupM South Asia from January 2019 to June 2026. Before that, he has worked as Chief Strategy Officer, GroupM South Asia between June 2015 and January 2019. Earlier, he has served as Managing Partner, South Asia at GroupM from September 2010 to June 2015.
Before rejoining senior leadership roles at GroupM, Vyas has worked as Director and Chief Marketing Officer at SureWaves from September 2007 to September 2010.
Earlier in his career, he has served as National Director, Interaction, the digital media division of GroupM, from November 2004 to September 2007. He has begun his media leadership journey at Mindshare, where he worked as National Director from 1999 to November 2004.
