JioStar has rebranded ESPNcricinfo as Cricinfo, marking a key step in the operational transition following the merger between Reliance Industries Limited and The Walt Disney Company in India, which was completed in November 2024.
The cricket website has returned to its original identity, Cricinfo, the name under which it was founded in 1993. The platform has continued to operate as a cricket-focused digital destination and has remained part of JioStar’s cricket content ecosystem.
Cricinfo has become available at cricinfo.com and across its mobile applications under the name “Cricinfo” on the App Store and Google Play. Users accessing the platform through espncricinfo.com, existing bookmarks, or previously shared links have continued to be redirected to the website without disruption.
The platform has retained its editorial archive and cricket database built over more than three decades, continuing to provide cricket news, statistics, analysis, and historical records.
Sambit Bal, Editor-in-Chief, Cricinfo, said: “We will continue building Cricinfo as a definitive destination for the most passionate cricket fans globally and it will remain true to its founding principles of serving cricket fans everywhere. The next phase of evolution will include AI-powered innovations to enhance our story-telling, which, as ever, will stay rooted in originality.”
