Laxmi Shetty has resigned from Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited after a 21-year stint with the company, citing personal reasons, according to a stock exchange filing.
In her resignation letter addressed to ZEEL CEO Punit Goenka, Shetty said she was stepping down “with utmost sadness and a heavy heart” and thanked the company leadership for the opportunities and support extended to her over the years. She said she would “fondly remember” the many breakthroughs and successes achieved during her tenure.
Shetty added that she would serve her 180-day notice period in accordance with company policy, making November 9, 2026 her last working day. She also noted that she had completed the handover to Sandeep, as advised by the management.
Responding to her resignation, Goenka said Shetty’s “dedication, hard work, and perseverance” would leave a lasting impact on the company and added that he would “always be extremely grateful” for the value she brought to the organisation over the last 21 years.
The company also announced the resignation of Umesh Kumar Bansal, Chief Business Officer at Zee Studios, who stepped down after more than a decade with the organisation, also citing personal reasons. Bansal said he was grateful for the trust, mentorship and support he received during his tenure and assured the company of a smooth transition process.
According to ZEEL, Bansal’s resignation will be effective from May 31, 2026, while Shetty’s resignation will come into effect from November 9, 2026.
