HT Media and its subsidiaries have decided to surrender multiple FM radio licences, citing the stations as “financially and strategically unviable”, according to a stock exchange filing.
The company said boards of Next Radio Limited and HT Music & Entertainment Company Limited approved the surrender of licences for Radio Nasha in Mumbai, Radio One in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, and Fever FM in Chennai.
The company and its subsidiaries are in the process of submitting applications to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for surrender of the licences. As per the disclosure, the stations are expected to cease operations by June 15, 2026.
HT Media said the affected radio stations contributed Rs 29.19 crore in turnover in FY25, accounting for 1.62% of the company’s consolidated revenue. The stations also reported a negative net worth of Rs 172.08 crore as of March 31, 2025. The licences were originally valid until 2030 and 2031, depending on the station.
