Vi Movies & TV, the content aggregator platform from Vodafone Idea (Vi), has announced its foray into the microdrama category. Microdramas have been made available on Vi Movies & TV in partnership with Bullet Microdrama and can be accessed via the Vi Movies & TV app.
Microdramas have been rapidly gaining popularity among India’s smartphone-first audiences. As per media reports, India has accounted for 11% of global downloads of microdrama platforms in Q1 2025, reaching 35 million. The microdrama market in India has been projected to reach $1.5 billion by 2026 and $4.5 billion by 2030, driven by rising adoption in Tier II and Tier III markets, younger audiences, and evolving content consumption habits. The category has demonstrated strong engagement with daily watch time of around 40–90 minutes and completion rates exceeding 90%.
The launch has supported Vi’s focus on expanding its free content portfolio. Vi Movies & TV subscribers have been able to access a mix of free and premium content from over 20 OTT platforms, including JioHotstar, SonyLIV, ZEE5 and Amazon MX Player, along with over 400 live TV channels on a single platform, reducing the need for multiple subscriptions.
The microdrama catalogue on Vi Movies & TV has included a multilingual mix of titles across genres such as romance, drama, thriller and comedy. The line-up has featured titles like Rickshaw Romeo, AutoRaja, Lady Boss, Comedy Couple and Sweet 16, catering to diverse regional audiences.
With this addition, Vi has continued to build its position as a content aggregator, offering a wide range of entertainment formats through one platform while aligning with changing consumer preferences.
