Pankaj Jain has joined Bennett Coleman & Co. (The Times of India) as Director–Legal. In this role, he has taken charge of leading the legal function, providing strategic legal counsel to the leadership team, strengthening governance frameworks, and ensuring compliance across business operations. He has also been overseeing litigation, contracts, intellectual property, and regulatory matters.
He has brought over 25 years of experience in corporate legal leadership across sectors including pharma, insurance, and professional services. His work has focused on legal strategy, governance, litigation management, and risk mitigation.
Prior to this, he has served as Head Legal at AstraZeneca Pharma India, where he has contributed to patent strategy, handled legal matters, and supported business transactions such as partnerships, licensing, and regulatory engagements.
Earlier in his career, he has held leadership roles at Strides Arcolab, Sistema Shyam Teleservices (MTS), HDFC Standard Life Insurance, Cholamandalam MS General Insurance, and Bajaj Allianz General Insurance.
