Dentsu India’s Jose Leon Exits To Pursue Entrepreneurial Ambitions

With over two decades of experience across marketing, retail media, digital strategy, and client partnerships, Jose Leon has stepped down as Chief Executive Officer – Retail Media Business at Dentsu India to focus on entrepreneurial ventures.

Dentsu India’s Jose Leon Exits To pursue Entrepreneurial Ambitions

Jose Leon has exited his role as Chief Executive Officer – Retail Media Business at Dentsu India, where he was responsible for helping retailers and brands unlock incremental revenue through retail media. He announced this move to pursue entrepreneurial ambitions.

Before joining Dentsu, Leon served as Chief Executive Officer at dentsu X from July 2023 to January 2025, overseeing experience-driven marketing initiatives across digital and traditional channels. From September 2022 to June 2023, he was Senior Vice President APAC – Client Partner at Valtech, working on commerce platforms, connected experiences, and client transformation.

Leon also spent over five years at Publicis Groupe and Indigo Consulting, including as Managing Director from March 2022 to September 2022, Chief Operating Officer from June 2020 to September 2022, and President from July 2017 to September 2022, leading digital business and marketing solutions.

At Adobe from 2011 to 2017, he held leadership positions including Director – Experience, Creative & Document Clouds South Asia and Head – Digital Marketing Strategic Alliances, focusing on enterprise digital solutions and marketing cloud services.

Earlier in his career, Leon held senior roles at Xerox from 2006 to 2011 and RISO Kagaku Corporation from 2004 to 2006, leading strategic alliances and channel programs, as well as roles at Ricoh India and Onida from 1996 to 2004 managing regional and area sales operations.
