Allen has appointed Rakesh Ranjan as the Chief Executive Officer of ALLEN Online, its digital arm. In his new role, Ranjan has been responsible for spearheading the company’s digital strategy and operations, scaling high-quality learning experiences powered by technology and AI. His mandate has included driving growth and strengthening the edtech unit’s position in the competitive learning ecosystem.
Allen announced the development through an official update on Linkedin. The company has highlighted his proven leadership skills and noted that this move reflects its commitment to transforming education and creating future-ready learning solutions.
Prior to joining Allen, Ranjan has built an extensive career across diverse sectors. He has spent over eight years at Zomato, most recently serving as CEO of its Food Delivery business from May 2023 to July 2025. Before that, he was CEO of Hyperpure by Zomato between September 2021 and May 2023, following his tenure as Chief Sales Officer for Food Delivery from June 2020 to August 2021. He had earlier been Vice President, Food Delivery | Head of Supply at Zomato from November 2017 to June 2020. He had also served briefly as Global Business Head – Zomato Gold between June 2017 and October 2017, during which he launched the programme across India, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Lisbon.
Before his long stint at Zomato, Ranjan had worked with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) from January 2014 to May 2017, starting as a Consultant and later serving as Project Leader. He had earlier been with CMS Info Systems in the Chairman’s Office from October 2011 to September 2013.
Ranjan’s career also includes a year as Senior Strategy Consultant at PwC from November 2010 to October 2011, and a brief stint with Diamond Management & Technology Consultants between July 2010 and November 2010.
