The media arm of one of the leading advertising networks- Publicis Groupe has announced the creation of a new role- Publicis Media South Asia CEO for which the agency has found the right fit in Performics India’s current CEO Lalatendu Das.
Taking up the newly created and larger role, Das, who had joined Publicis Groupe in early 2022, will continue reporting to Publicis Groupe South Asia CEO Anupriya Acharya and will work closely with Jai Lala, CEO of Zenith India; Rathi Gangappa, CEO of Starcom India; Sejal Shah, MD of PMX India; and other media leaders.
Before joining Publicis Groupe South Asia in 2022 as CEO of Performics India and adding marquee accounts, incubating innovative products and pivoting Performics India to the top spots in performance marketing and end-to-end digital solutions landscape in the last three years, Das spent nearly a decade at McKinsey as a Partner and founding member of McKinsey Digital Labs in Asia Pacific.
During his time at McKinsey, he co-led the McKinsey Digital/Technology practice, focusing on new digital business builds, customer journey transformations, and advanced analytics-led transformations.
In the past, he also held major operational roles at Tata Consultancy Services for over a decade.
With this development in place, the network agency has also announced the quitting of Publicis Media Services South Asia CEO Tanmay Mohanty owing to his intention of pursuing new opportunities.
During his tenure as Publicis Media Services South Asia CEO, he was overseeing the media operations of Zenith India and Starcom India in addition to the Media Product and Solutions portfolio.
He had joined Publicis Groupe India in July 2012 as COO of Resultrix (a Performics India Company) and was elevated to the role of Managing Director- India in January 2014 and Group CEO- Zenith in July 2016 and later to CEO- Publicis Media India in April 2021.
Previously, he also held several key roles in id8labs, webpercept.com, Urja Communications and Dalal Street.
Sharing her views on Das’ elevation at the network agency, Anupriya Acharya, CEO, Publicis Groupe South Asia said, “LD is a remarkable leader with established credentials.
