Zomato Delivery Guy Delivers Food Despite Losing Wallet, Social Media Reacts

Social media has become a very powerful tool today. What started as a means to connect with people remotely is now an industry worth billions.

Considering the vast userbase that these platforms have, brands have made them their first choice for marketing, promotions, and branding. It has also witnessed the rise and fall of many talented individuals and companies alike.

To complete, with one another many online delivery companies have started putting out offers to attain the lead. In this, the fastest delivery has been the talk of the month. Recently these delivery apps have been receiving a lot of flack for implementing inhumane delivery standards.

Today, we are here to talk about one such moment that brought the people on the internet together in support of a fellow human.

A Twitter user, Sachin Kalbag, recently posted a heart-touching incident with his Zomato delivery partner.

Hi @zomato @deepigoyal, mindblown by Manish Bhageluram Gupta’s work ethic. He accidentally dropped his wallet at a restaurant where he picked up our food. It was stolen. Instead of waiting there, he came to our house to deliver our order, and even said sorry for the short delay. pic.twitter.com/N6DBiRo91h

— Sachin Kalbag (@SachinKalbag) October 16, 2021

Sachin went on to explain Manish’s ordeal in 12 thread posts which will make anyone feel concerned about the delivery partner and the state of mind he might have been when he lost his hard-earned money.

Without a doubt, the post went viral and people came in support of Manish. Zomato also responded on the thread and asked Sachin to share the order details with them so that they may pass on the appreciation.

Hi Sachin, we are ecstatic to work with such hardworking dedicated partners. Please share the order details over a private message and we’ll pass on your appreciation right away. https://t.co/jcTFuGSv2G

— zomato care (@zomatocare) October 16, 2021

People jumped in and asked Zomato to rather compensate the employee and others like him who take their job this seriously.

Compensate him as well! Appreciation stays on a wall but he may need extra money since he lost the wallet for ensuring the Zomato brand experience

— Maya Rane 🇮🇳 (@GoldDusters) October 16, 2021

@zomatocare you should also ensure Manish gets his wallet back if not then at least help him to get duplicate copy of his documents he might have lost.

— U.N.S. (@igneouznayan) October 16, 2021

Hope @zomato compensates him. He put his duty above everything else.

— Roy Kurian (@Roy72kurian) October 16, 2021

@zomato Help him in retrieving all his necessary documents, you must be having soft copies in your back office. Hopefully, the customer has helped him financially as well. If not then please share contact number of the delivery guy. I would like to give a tip for his generosity.

— Prateek Kushwaha (@indpkp) October 16, 2021

This is so depressing. Guy can’t even wait to search his wallet due to fear of not delivering order or getting a lower rating due to a delay. He must fear it will affect his job or he may lose it. Sachin, will work still be a priority if you lose the wallet on way to work ?

— Ron Swanson (@hereToCritic) October 16, 2021

How inhuman have we become? A poor fellow lost his wallet, ids & money and our ego is mindblown because he prioritised our meals by driving ‘without a license’ & said sorry! Shouldn’t @zomato have a process for assigning a replacement in times of emergencies like these?

— प्रशांत (@pranih) October 16, 2021

Appreciation? That’s ridiculous. They should suitably reward him and make him role model. I wish I could recommend him for a better job somewhere else!

— Bhanu (@bhanua) October 16, 2021

It only shows the amount of stress under which these guys are put to at work just to ensure they make a decent buck for their hard work! Shameful. @DeliveryBhoy

— Riyaz Ahmed Saboor ریاض احمد صبور (@drlifeline) October 17, 2021

There is so much wrong with this.

— Araragi (Partly Free) 🏹🚜 (@inamonf) October 17, 2021

And you think this is a mindblowing work ethic that delivery persons are forced to put your pizza before their own problems and before their own safety?

— Shivangi (@ChoubeyShivangi) October 17, 2021

People have surely voiced their thoughts about Zomato’s work culture. However, we sincerely hope that Manish receives all the help he needs to retrieve his lost documents.
