Now, although all celebrities lost to Viswanathan Anand, chess grandmaster and former world chess champion, Nikhil Kamath, co-founder and CIO of Zerodha shocked everyone with his win against the famous world champion. He was also awarded an accuracy of 99%!
The Chess players community took this defeat with a pinch of salt and popular International Chess YouTuber, Agadmator conducted a post-match analysis which showed that Nikhil had violated the ‘Fair-Play’ policy. In a video that he released on his channel later, one can see how.
Post this, Nikhil’s chess.com game account was also closed down. He later Tweeted an apology and said that he took help from some people and computers to analyse the game.
It is ridiculous that so many are thinking that I really beat Vishy sir in a chess game, that is almost like me waking up and winning a 100mt race with Usain Bolt. 😬 pic.twitter.com/UoazhNiAZV

Disheartened to come to know that even Sajid Nadiadwala cheated yesterday. This is pure disrespect to chess.

Woke up to this. Complete disrespect to chess. Nothing justifies cheating. Going back to sleep https://t.co/d8RCCst3TG

Viswanathan Anand and his wife finally made a statement. The chess legend tweeted in response to Nikhil’s tweet and concluded by saying, “I just played the position on the board and expected the same from everyone.”

… He requested Mr. Kamath not to involve Anand’s name in his Tweets or in his course of action. That he went ahead and did it and allege something is disrespectful."
