World's Most Admired Companies by FORTUNE

The list of the 25 Most Powerful Women was first published this year. Additionally, it represents the most challenging in the history of this rating. We integrated our candidates to create one final ranking, a more realistic depiction of the current state of global business, as opposed to compiling different international and domestic versions, as we’ve done in some form since 2000. Even though there were a record number of female Fortune 500 list CEOs, there were fewer slots available as a result.

As a result, every woman on this list is currently or soon will be the CEO of either her present business or a rival. There’s no resting still—even for those at the top—as some of the highest-ranking CEOs are in the process of reinventing, reconstructing, or bringing around their businesses.

The list of the World’s Most Admired Companies was created by Fortune and survey partner Hey Group. 4,170 executives, directors, and financial analysts were surveyed to choose their top 10 favorite firms in order to compile the top 50. Any person might cast a vote for any business in any sector.
