The reason behind this whole exercise is to discover whether or not, a movie’s budget has any impact on the ‘effectiveness’ it has on the viewers, while viewing it. That is, whether high-budget horror movies are more successful in scaring a viewer more or no. The recruit will be paid $1300 and be sent a Fitbit. The company will also provide a $50 as rental towards rental cost for all movies. The company has put out a notice to anyone above age 18, to take part in this spooky fest.
The films will be chosen by FinanceBuzz and some of them have already been declared- Amityville Horror, Saw, both parts of A Quiet Place, Insidious, Paranormal Activity, Annabelle, Halloween(2018), The Blairwitch Project, Get Out, The Purge etc..
The viewer along with watching the movie, will also be required to rank the movies based on his or her prediction of production budgets. Entries are invited till September 26th and the winner will be announced on October 1st. The movies will have to be seen between October 9th to October 18th.
