Saurabh Dwivedi, Editor of Lallantop and India Today Hindi, has announced that he has decided to move on from the India Today Group Digital after a 12-year association. His departure has marked the end of a long stint during which he has emerged as one of the most prominent homegrown editorial leaders within the organisation.
Dwivedi has confirmed his exit through a post on X, where he has expressed gratitude to Lallantop for “maan, pehchaan aur gyaan,” while signalling the beginning of a new journey. Quoting a sher by poet Nasir Kazmi, he has indicated that this phase marks a pause before moving on to the next chapter.
He has joined the India Today Group as Features Editor for aajtak.in and has later gone on to co-build Lallantop along with Kamlesh. Under his leadership, Lallantop has grown into a major digital news platform focused on young audiences in India’s heartland, with the platform currently reaching nearly 35 million subscribers on YouTube and recording over 250 million views last month, according to the group’s announcement. The team has built an alternative digital news platform that has positioned itself as a credible voice for its audience.
The group has stated that Dwivedi has decided to move on to explore new opportunities across diverse fields, including creative mediums that are not part of the India Today Group’s portfolio.
As part of a leadership transition, Kuldeep Mishra has taken full charge of Team LT’s editorial responsibilities, while Rajat Sain has assumed responsibility for the Production Team. Both Mishra and Sain have been members of Lallantop’s founding team. Mishra has been closely associated with key editorial formats such as the LT Show and Netanagari, while Sain has overseen Lallantop through multiple phases of production transformation.
The India Today Group has said that the transition has reflected a generational shift within the organisation, with leadership being handed over to homegrown talent. While noting that Dwivedi will be missed, the group has expressed confidence in the new leadership and optimism about the transition ahead, wishing him well for his future endeavours and expressing anticipation for his next project.
