Sabyasachi Slammed For Calling “Overdressed” Women Wounded In Instagram Post.

| Published on July 7, 2019

The name that has been associated with elegance and regal is Sabyasachi. The grandeur of lehengas and saris have been every Indian girl’s dream.

Sabyasachi

Sabyasachi has been a celebrated designer and has been behind the beautiful costumes which our leading actresses have worn, on-screen and off-screen. His Instagram page has been a treat to the sore eye always. Sabyasachi’s designed wedding attires for Virushka and the vibrant red wedding lehenga for Priyanka Chopra had left us all drooling.

But recently, the designer had to face criticism not for his designs but for a post that he shared. Sabyasachi had quoted Miss Havisham, a character from Charles Dickens‘ famous novel Great Expectations. What struck to his followers the most was what came followed to the excerpt.

Sabyasachi said in his post that a woman who is overdressed, caked with make-up and armored with jewelry is probably wounded. He also requested his followers to empathies with such women and heal them by giving them some company. This did not go well with his followers.

No matter how good Sabyasachi’s intention where behind this post, it did not fetch him the reaction he might have expected. Let’s have a look at some of the replies he received on his post.
