Rishabh Pant Recreates Sunil Gavaskar's Iconic 'Stupid, Stupid, Stupid' Moment In Goibibo’s New Ad

Goibibo has announced the signing of cricketer Rishabh Pant as its new brand ambassador, with the launch of an ad campaign featuring legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar.

The campaign takes a humorous twist, with Pant playfully taking revenge on Gavaskar by calling him “Stupid, Stupid, Stupid” — a reference to a memorable moment during the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

In the ad, Pant mocks Gavaskar’s famous commentary moment when Pant misjudged a shot to third man in the fourth Test. Gavaskar, in the commentary box, had exclaimed, “Stupid, stupid, stupid” after Pant’s dismissal.

The ad hilariously portrays Pant mimicking the iconic line in a playful exchange, adding a light-hearted spin to the interaction. Pant then shows Goibobo’s deals on his phone with last minute deals.

 Raj Rishi Singh, Chief Marketing Officer at Goibibo, shared, “Renowned for his spontaneous style of play, playful attitude, and vibrant personality, Rishabh Pant is the ideal choice to represent Goibibo—bringing the same energy and enthusiasm to travel that he does to cricket. The chemistry between Rishabh Pant and Sunil Gavaskar is bound to captivate audiences of all ages, creating a memorable experience for both cricket fans and avid travelers alike.”

Rishabh Pant spoke about his excitement for the campaign, saying, “I am pleased to partner with Goibibo, a brand I resonate with as youthful and dynamic. It was extremely exciting to work with Sunil Sir for this campaign. I’m pleasantly surprised by how well Goibibo has turned this conversation into a playful take on travel plans.”

Sunil Gavaskar, in turn, commented on the campaign, saying, “I have always believed players have every right to come back at comments about them. I myself did so several times during my playing career. So, I see the funny side of the concept and I don’t mind fun being poked back at me.”
