Reliance Retail Limited has acquired the brand ‘Pahadi Local’ along with its business from Pahadi Goodness. The acquisition has added a Himalayan-inspired beauty and wellness brand to the company’s portfolio.
Pahadi Local has built its product range around Himalayan ingredients and nature-led formulations. The brand has positioned itself in the beauty and wellness category through products focused on traditional ingredients and minimal processing.
With the acquisition, Reliance Retail has expanded its presence in the beauty and personal care segment and has added another Indian brand to its ecosystem. The company has aimed to scale the brand through its retail network, digital commerce platforms, and supply chain capabilities.
Pahadi Local has worked with women-led self-help groups in Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh and has sourced ingredients from mountain communities. Its products have included formulations based on ingredients such as apricot kernel oil (Gutti Ka Tel).
The founding team of Pahadi Local has continued to remain involved in the brand’s creative direction, product development and philosophy following the acquisition.
