While the cars are doing pretty well in terms of sales, the e-scooters have been picking up momentum as well.
Rising fuel prices have been one of the major influencers in promoting the sale of EVs worldwide. In fact, they do have a lower cost of maintenance as compared to fuel-powered vehicles.
However, the May month has witnessed a decline in sales due to the shortage of semiconductor chips.
Despite all that is going on, Okinawa Autotech becomes the best-selling electric scooter brand in India by overtaking Ola Electric in the month of May 2022.
1. Okinawa Autotech
Okinawa Autotech, which is an Indian scooter brand, has sold a total of 9,303 units in the month of May 2022. The company has a market share of 0.76 percent in the overall 2-wheeler segment.
2. Ola Electric
Positioning itself in second place is Ola Electric with a sale of 9,225 units in May 2022. The numbers have declined substantially as compared to the previous month.
3. Ampere Vehicles
With a sale of 5,836 units of scooters in the month of May 2022, Ampere Vehicles has taken the third spot. Though the numbers have declined as compared to the previous month, the scooters had sold not more than 150 units in May 2021.
4. Ather Energy
Ather Energy has sold around 3,323 units of its electric scooters this month. Their performance in terms of sales has only improved compared with the previous month and that of May 2021.
5. Hero Electric
Hero Electric has sold only 2,850 units in the month of May 2022 which is a huge decline as compared to the previous month.
