Medanta Launches “Jaanta Hai Medanta” Campaign To Promote Cancer Awareness & Early Detection

Medanta has launched the “Jaanta Hai Medanta” campaign, highlighting its commitment to raising awareness about cancer, empowering individuals with early detection knowledge, and providing educational tools to support patients and communities.

Medanta Launches “Jaanta Hai Medanta” Campaign To Promote Cancer Awareness & Early Detection

Medanta, one of India’s leading super-speciality hospitals and ranked the Best Private Hospital in India by Newsweek for six consecutive years, has launched “Jaanta Hai Medanta,” a movement aimed at raising awareness and encouraging action against cancer. The initiative highlights the challenges faced by cancer patients and their families, emphasizing that they are not alone in their journey.

Each month, the movement will focus on a different type of cancer, including breast, oral, prostate, thyroid, colon, pediatric, uterine, cervical, ovarian, liver, lung, and brain tumors. In October, for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Medanta is highlighting breast cancer awareness and the importance of self-examination, noting that breast cancer alone is expected to account for over 232,000 new cases in 2025.

The campaign encourages women to break the stigma around breast health and take charge of their well-being through monthly self-examinations and regular screenings. As part of this effort, the awareness film “Banno Ki Rasm” has been released, reimagining the self-breast exam as a tradition of strength, self-love, and care passed down from one generation to the next, and urging women to make the practice a monthly ritual once they reach adulthood. The film, which has crossed 8 million views on social media, depicts a group of women teaching a teenager the importance of monthly self-breast exams as a form of self-care.

Recognizing that every minute four women are diagnosed with breast cancer worldwide, Medanta aims to eliminate the shame and silence associated with the disease, promoting early detection to positively impact lives. The hospital has also launched a doctor-led video titled “3 minutes. 3 steps. Once a month,” which demonstrates self-breast exams in three simple steps.

In addition, Medanta has introduced the first-of-its-kind “Aao. Dekho. Seekho.” kiosks in Gurugram and Lucknow. These interactive spaces allow women to learn and practice self-breast examinations on simulators under expert guidance, providing a private and respectful environment with clear messaging and visual aids to promote correct techniques and early detection.

Other initiatives include community activities that aim to normalize conversations around breast health through sports-based events, survivor meets, and grassroots efforts in rural areas, reaching more than 100 communities and over 5,000 families.

Dr. Kanchan Kaur, Senior Director, Breast Cancer, Cancer Care, Medanta Gurugram, said, “Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in India and accounts for a significant share of cancer-related deaths, largely because over half of the cases are diagnosed at advanced stages. Awareness, monthly self-examination, and timely medical consultation can save countless lives. Through Jaanta Hai Medanta and initiatives like Banno Ki Rasm, we want to normalize conversations around breast health and empower women to adopt self-check as a routine practice with confidence.”
