Grey India’s Ketan Desai To Replace Robert Godinho At Sir Martin Sorrell’s S4 Capital’s Monk As MD- India

With Robert Godinho, the founder of WhiteBalance who had decided to merge his company with Sir Martin Sorrell’s S4 Capital’s Monk to form Monks India in 2019, deciding to put an end to his time as MD at Monks India, the COO of WPP’s Grey India- Ketan Desai has now been appointed as the new MD of Monks India. He will take up the new role on February 3, 2025.

WPP’s Ketan Desai To Replace Robert Godinho At Sir Martin Sorrell’s S4 Capital’s Monk As MD- India

Monks India, the operating brand of Sir Martin Sorrell’s S4 Capital in India, has announced the appointment of former Chief Operating Officer of Grey India (part of WPP)- Ketan Desai as the new Managing Director of Monks India, to lead the agency in a new era, solving the industry’s complexity challenge of speed, scale and spending.

He will be taking up the new role on February 3, and will report to Kenny Griffiths, Managing Director, APAC at Monks.

This development comes in the light of Robert Godinho deciding to part ways from Monks India after leading the agency for over five years to move on to a new challenge. He had founded WhiteBalance in 2009 and had taken the decision of merging the same with S4 Capital’s Monk to form Monk India in 2019.

He will stay on for a sufficient time to onboard Desai and ensure a smooth transition at Monks India before taking up his next challenge and putting an end to his 15 years long entrepreneurial journey.

That said, Desai joins Monks India at a pivotal time for the marketing industry, in which the economics have fundamentally changed thanks to rapid disruption by technology, and in times when marketers need partners that can remove complexity, orchestrating marketing that flows together with tech innovation.

Bringing with him over 20 years of agency leadership experience and driving scaled marketing solutions for India’s top clients, Desai will help accelerate the Monks model of combining AI-powered end-to-end services with orchestrating the best talent, untethering marketers from archaic models and into new opportunities for growth.

Additionally, this appointment at Monks India represents a strategic shift for the global, purely digital, data-driven, unitary operating brand of S4 Capital in India, answering marketers’ need for a new vision and ecosystem to help them solve the complexity of today’s industry.

Commenting on Desai’s appointment, Kenny Griffiths, Managing Director-APAC, Monks, said, “We are excited to have Ketan Desai join us at a pivotal time for Monks in India. Adobe Partners Runway To Integrate Gen-4.5 AI Video Model Into Firefly Multi-year partnership has brought Runway’s generative video models into Adobe Firefly, with Adobe becoming Runway’s preferred API creativity partner Adobe has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership with Runway to integrate generative AI video capabilities into its creative ecosystem. The collaboration has brought Runway’s video models into Adobe’s tools to support AI-driven video workflows for creators, studios, media companies, brands and enterprises. As part of the partnership, Adobe has become Runway’s preferred API creativity partner and has offered its users early access to Runway’s latest video models. Runway’s Gen-4.5 model has become available in the Adobe Firefly app for a limited period, ahead of a broader public release. The two companies have collaborated to develop AI capabilities tailored for professional video workflows, which have been made available exclusively within Adobe applications, beginning with Adobe Firefly. Adobe Firefly users have gained the ability to generate video using text prompts, experiment with pacing, motion and visual styles, and then refine outputs using Adobe’s video editing tools. Adobe has integrated Runway’s Gen-4.5 into Firefly’s workflow, enabling creators to move generated clips into applications such as Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects for further editing and control. The companies have stated that Firefly customers will continue to receive early access to future Runway model releases through Adobe’s platform. Adobe and Runway have also worked with filmmakers, studios, agencies, streaming platforms and brands to co-develop new video capabilities within Adobe’s creative tools. The collaboration has focused on making generative video a consistent part of professional creative workflows. Runway’s Gen-4.5 has been made available in the Adobe Firefly app and on Runway’s own platform. Adobe Firefly Pro subscribers have been given unlimited generations until December 22. “As AI transforms video production, pros are turning to Adobe’s creative ecosystem – from Firefly to Premiere to After Effects – to imagine, craft and scale their stories across every screen,” said Ely Greenfield, chief technology officer and senior vice president, digital media, Adobe. “Runway’s generative video innovation combined with Adobe’s trusted pro workflows will help creators and brands expand their creative potential and meet the growing demands of modern content and media production.” “We’re building AI tools that are redefining creativity, storytelling and entertainment, with Gen-4.5 as the latest example,” said Cristóbal Valenzuela, co-founder and CEO, Runway. “This partnership puts our latest generative video technology in front of more storytellers, inside Adobe’s creative tools that are already the industry standard for many creators around the world.”
