People say billboard advertising is outdated in the modern digital world, but still, we haven’t seen billboards losing their place in the marketing world. Don’t about the rest of the world but in India, billboard advertising works. That’s why Hotstar unveils a 1000-feet long billboard in Mirzapur, UP. It is India’s longest billboard.
Billboard reads in Hindi, “Itna zyada free entertainment ki ye board bhi kam pad jayega.” The billboard is part of Hotstar’s new 360-degree marketing campaign ‘Hotstar ka vaada, free entertainment sabse zyada’.
According to reports, Hotstar has collaborated with The Social Street for this campaign. The billboard showcases Hotstar’s library of free content, including movies like ‘Chhichhore’, ‘Mission Mangal’; TV shows from Star Plus like ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, ‘Nazar’, ‘Kasauti Zindagi Kay’, and Star Bharat like ‘Savdhaan India’, along with the news.
Mandeep Malhotra, founding partner and CEO, The Social Street, says, “We wanted to create something that would send out the brand’s message in a way that wows people. We were able to leverage media in a way that managed to create brand new boundaries.”
Well, it seems like it is a perfect time to launch this campaign as the whole of India is moving to lockdown amid the fears of coronavirus outbreak. Hotstar is making sure people will not get bored sitting home by providing a range of free content entertainment options to watch from the comfort of their own homes.
