The Indian Government is doing its best to bring the economy up and working. Keeping this in mind, the MSME minister Nitin Gadkari has started an online initiative that aims at getting as many ideas & innovations from entrepreneurs as possible. This online information-sharing platform was launched in order to help small businesses & startups.
On Thursday, MSME Ministry launched a dedicated portal for MSMEs to share their ideas, innovation, and research in respective sectors for public reviews for vetting before launching them. The portal will also facilitate venture capital (VC) investors to connect with businesses, MSME Ministry said in a statement. The portal will act as a one-stop-shop for details about all MSME schemes offered by the central government and respective state governments.
While talking about the website and the platform, the Ministry said that the registration form would mention areas of innovation and sectors where small businesses are focused on. Ministry also added that the ideas submitted will be reviewed by the concerned officer and publish them for public view. Registered users can rate these ideas and venture capitalists can connect with the user having an idea, innovation, and research.
Pratap Chandra Sarangi, MoS, MSME has said that this will help in research activities like those in rural tribal knowledge, skills will get a chance for spreading their knowledge. Similarly, it can assist the farmers in planning, production, storage, and marketing of their produce.
However, the Ministry has also asked people to be cautious and pro-active while sharing their ideas on a public platform that is awaiting a patent. This is to ensure that no one misuses the platform.
Gadkari believes that the portal will prove to be of great transformational significance in the country.
