Advertisements released in the past two weeks have garnered exciting responses. The ads too exhibit a lot of variety. From SRK and Alia Bhatt to Neeraj Chopra’s surprising acting debut, here is exchange4media’s fortnightly collection of top-notch ads.
1. CRED- Great for Good
The ad shows Indians’ obsession towards the gold medal in Olympics. Featuring Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra, who by the way, has delivered a terrific performance in the ad, has him playing various characters like a film producer, a news reporter, a bank executive etc. The writing by AIB and its execution are brilliant and has a funny javelin song in the background towards the end.
2. Cadbury Dairy Milk-#GoodLuckGirls
Cadbury’s iconic ad of 1994 was recreated to cater to modern times and Ogilvy and Mondelez have done it right this time too. The ad has a woman cricketer scoring a century and her friend running on the field dancing an awkward dance in elation. The message is just as effective- ‘Waqt badla hai, Zindagi Ka Swaad nahin.’ The ad has garnered appreciation and record views.
3. Manyavar Mohey- Tradition Wohi, Soch Nayi
Ideated by Shreyansh Innovations and featuring the beautiful Alia Bhatt as a bride with a mind, the ad challenges the age-old custom of ‘kanyadaan’ and instead emphasizes on respecting the bride and giving it a new name – ‘KanyaMaan’. Through a brilliant message and some wonderful acting, the ad did strike a chord with many viewers, although for some it was hurtful and the ad received a mixed response.
4. CEAT – Switch to CEAT SecuraDrive
The ad in its trademark style reflects on how we as a citizen need to follow traffic rules and community discipline, but until then it is important to be safe and SecuraDrive tyres assure road safety for drivers and public alike. Funnily portrayed, this ad designed by Ogilvy, features Aamir Khan.
5. Disney+Hotstar #SiwaySRK series
SRKs’ has been quiet a magnanimous personalia. In his true to himself style and ability to take a joke on himself, this ad series has SRK partnering with Disney +Hotstar to promote the entertainment platform and also hinting at the possibility of the Badshah of Bollywood venturing into the OTT space.The series show SRK facing some major FOMO and how he responds to different plots by his aide about his counterparts’ association with Disney+Hotstar.
6. Byju’s -2 Teacher advantage
Conceptualized by Spring marketing Capital, EdTech leader Byju’s ad touches the ongoing concerns of students having difficulty coping with and understanding new concepts. The ads bring to the fore the advantages of studying with Byju’s 2 teacher advantage which means having two teachers explain the concept helps students understand better. The ad features SRK, the online platform’s brand ambassador.
7. Amul Macho- Yeh toh Bada Toing hai
Made by Leo Burnett and featuring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, the series of ads for Amul macho has Mandanna playing the role of a yoga instructor and Kaushal as one of her students, with various humorous plots attempting to normalize the female gaze.
8. Zed Black- Manthan Zaroor hai
Featuring Hrithik Roshan, the ad had been launched in a bid to up sales during Ganesh Chaturthi. With its tagline-Manthan Zaroori hai, the ad tries to convey to believe in the deeper power with oneself.
