Since the lockdown which was imposed the pandemic got lifted, multiplexes have been up and running. They started with all the major social distancing norms from leaving every other seat empty to wearing face masks at all times.

However, by the second quarter of 2022, these regulations were relaxed and made it easier for people to enjoy their favorite movies just like before. This has also helped the production houses to finally release their upcoming movies on the big screen than on online streaming platforms.

As per a report by media consulting firm Ormax and media investment firm GroupM, Box office revenue is expected to touch a record ₹12,515 crores in 2022, surpassing the previous high of ₹10, 948 crores which were in 2019.
