Avinash Kaul has exited Network18 Media and Investments, where he has served as CEO – Network18 and Managing Director, A+E Networks | TV18. His exit marked the end of a long leadership stint at the media network, where he has overseen strategic, operational and business responsibilities across broadcast and content businesses. The development has been learnt from highly placed sources.
Prior to this exit, Kaul has spent over 12 years at Network18 Media and Investments.Prior to this, he has served as Managing Director of A+E Networks | TV18 since March 2015. Before this, he has held multiple leadership roles within the Network18 group, including Chief Operating Officer from April 2018 to May 2019, President from May 2016 to April 2018, and Chief Executive Officer – IBN News Network from May 2014 to April 2016.
Before joining Network18, Kaul has been associated with BCCL (Times Group), where he has served as CEO – TV Division from August 2010 to May 2014. He has then briefly served as CEO at Sahara One Entertainment and Media Limited from February 2010 to August 2010, where he has been responsible for overall business operations of Sahara One, Filmy and Firangi channels.
Earlier in his career, Kaul has spent over seven years at NDTV Media, joining in September 2002 and exiting in February 2010 as Executive Vice President.
Kaul has also worked with Star India as Senior Manager between 2001 and 2002. Prior to that, he served as Assistant Manager at Discovery Communications from 1999 to 2001, managing research and planning across programming, sales, marketing and distribution. He started his professional journey at WPP as a Media Planner from 1998 to 1999, handling the personal wash category for Hindustan Lever, Lakme Lever, and being part of the launch teams for Axe Deo and Denim Soap in India.
