Ashwinikumar Patil, who had been responsible for building Zepto Ads as Head of Product at Zepto for a period of one year starting February 2024, has now rejoined his old company- Walmart Global Tech India to drive the assortment expansion product for Walmart Marketplace.
During his time at Zepto, he led a team of product managers, product analysts, and data scientists and worked with backend, frontend (web and app) to drive business outcomes by creating experiences for brands to highlight their story and products via Ads and drive conversions using user targeted promotions.
That said, in his earlier stint with Walmart, which lasted for more than five years, he served the role of Group Product Manager from November 2018 to February 2023, during which time he was responsible for leading a group of products in Search and Discovery space, mentoring product managers to become the best version of themselves and driving the Walmart Product Ads charter, balancing customer preferences with advertising imperatives employing Reinforcement Learning (AI) to optimise yields, increase ad density and improve candidate selection as well as leading the charter to build the product platform Retail Knowledge Graph which impacts the entire user experience from acquisition to retention.
In December 2022, Patil was elevated to the role of Director of Product Management at the company and was tasked with the onus of leading a team to create value for advertisers through Walmart’s Onsite display offerings, which is a multi million dollar business.
Prior to joining Walmart, he served the role of Product Manager at IceCream Labs from May 2017 to November 2018 and Category Head- Content and Community Driven Commerce at Myntra from February 2015 to January 2016.
He began his career with Tata Motors in July 2008 as In-charge of developing an HR roadmap for Tata Nano Manufacturing Facility. Between October 2008 and January 2009, he worked with Tata Power, with Tata Quality Management Services from January 2009 to March 2009, Tata Sons (Aerospace) between March 2009 and July 2009, Tata Docomo as Product Brand Manager from July 2009 to March 2014, and as Head of New Product and Business at mjunction services from March 2014 to January 2015 as part of Tata Group Leadership Programme.
