We all are aware of the hassles an entrepreneur faces while the business is in its nascent stage. It isn’t easy, with so much to plan, execute and accomplish, with the primary concern being that of funding.
But the show Shark Tank has proved to be a boon, showing potential, first-stage or first-generation entrepreneurs, that the right platform can do wonders.
While in the first season, a majority of businesses and pitches were led by men, the second season has seen several women entrepreneurs bagging investments and winning hearts with innovative, offbeat pitches.
Let’s check out a few of them.
1. Yushika Jolly- Paradyes
The co-founder of a semi-permanent hair dye brand ‘Paradyes’, Yushika Jolly appeared on the show with her husband and co-founder Siddharth Raghuvanshi and pitched for her brand that garnered an investment of INR 65 lakhs for 2% equity by sharks Aman Gupta and Vineeta Singh.
2. Pooja Bajaj Shah- Girgit
The brand Girgit makes shoes, smartwatches, shorts, and much more, that change color when coming into contact with different temperatures.

3. Yeshoda Karuturi & Rhea Karuturi – Hoovu Fresh
Hoovu Fresh is a Bangalore-based online retailer, that delivers fresh puja flowers to your doorstep.
Founders Rhea and Yeshoda asked for 80 lakhs for a 1% stake but ended up receiving 1 crore for 2 % equity from Sharks Aman Gupta and Peyush Bansal.
4.Geeta Patil- Patil Kaki
This one is from the kitchen that goes straight to your heart.
Geeta Patil or Patil Kaki as she is now famous had almost all sharks offering her an investment. Her team accepted a joint offer from Peyush Bansal and Anupam Mittal who offered 40 lakhs for 4% equity, with a valuation of 10 crores.
5. Slony Gambhir- Very Much Indian
The founder of a premium and handmade saree brand ‘Very Much Indian’, pitched to the sharks for an investment of 3% equity in exchange for INR 50 lakhs at a valuation of INR 16 crores.
6. Poonam Kasturi – Daily Dump
The unique composting solutions provider Daily Dump’s founder Poonam Bir Kasturi received an offer by Namita Thapar, who offered to buy 4% equity of the company at ₹30 Lakhs and ₹50 Lakhs debt at 10% interest.
7. Jyoti Bharadwaj- TeaFit
Armed with two of the cutest pitchers, Jyoti managed to get an investment of INR 50 lakhs for 8% equity by Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh, and Peyush Bansal.
