8 Indian Companies Are Among Best Employers In The World, Acc. To Forbes

Recently Forbes released a list of the best employers in the world. And eight Indian companies, have been ranked as the best employers in 2022. Let’s take a look at them.

1. Reliance Industries Ltd

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has been ranked the 20th best employer in the world. It is the only Indian company to be featured in the top 100 list.

Led by Mukesh Ambani, this oil-to-telecom conglomerate employs around 2,30,000 employees. Last year, it was ranked at number 52, this year moving up 32 spots.

2. HDFC Bank

The fifteenth largest employer in India, HDFC currently employs 1,41,579 employees.

The banking and financial services company led by Sashidhar Jagdishan is the second-best Indian employer, ranking at 137th position on the Forbes World’s Best Employers’ List 2022.

3. Bajaj

Bajaj Auto Limited, the Indian multinational automotive manufacturing company has been ranked as the 173rd best employer in the world. It currently operates with a staff of 36,000 employees

4. Aditya Birla Group

The multinational conglomerate headed by Kumar Mangalam Birla has been ranked the 240th best employer in the world.

It employs more than 1,40,000 employees.

5. Larsen & Toubro

The investment holding company with varied interests in technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing and financial services employs more than 3.6 lakh employees.

It is the 354th best employer in the world this year.

6. ICICI Bank

Ranked 365th on the list is ICICI Bank, which provides banking and financial services. It employs more than 98,000 employees.

7. HCL Technologies

IT Software & Services company HCL Technologies ranks 455th on the list.

8. State Bank of India

With around 2,78,000 employees, the State Bank of India (SBI) has been ranked as the 499th best employer in the world.

Top Employers in the World

Samsung was ranked the best employer in the world for the third year in succession.

Following the Korean tech giant are ten American companies that include Microsoft, IBM, Alphabet, Apple, Delta Airlines, Costco Wholesale, Adobe, Southwest Airlines and Dell Technologies.

How Was the List Compiled

Research company Statista surveyed 1,50,000 full-time and part-time workers from 57 countries working for multinational companies and institutions.

The workers were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their employers to friends and family and to evaluate other employers in their respective industries that stood out either positively or negatively.

This was done to determine which companies excel with respect to factors like corporate impact and image, talent development, gender equality, and social responsibility.

This year’s list comprised 800 companies that received the highest scores.
