And that too through an ATM.
Yes, you heard that right!
A video featuring this unique idli vending machine has surfaced on the internet. And netizens just can’t seem to keep their calm.
This idli ATM is operated by Freshot Foodbots, a startup that makes fully automated cooking and vending bots. It operates by scanning a QR code. It operates 24/7, and people can avail fresh idlis anytime of the day.
Along with the idlis, the staple sambar and chutneys are complementary. The machine makes 72 idlis in one cycle. According to the Freshot Robotics team, the machine needs 18 to 20 minutes to pour the batter and clean itself while the idlis are getting cooked for roughly around 10 to 12 minutes.
Bots can make up to four different varieties of idlis in one go. These bots will be made available in 2023. A built-in vada dispenser is also added to the machine.

The batter is handmade while bots are used to bake the idlis. The idli dispensing ATM may be launched soon in other cities and hotspots like metro stations and airports too.

In order to avail of a plate of idlis, place your order and make your payment by scanning the QR code next to the ATM. The food will be ready and packed in under a minute after the ATM scans the resulting code that is on your mobile device.
That is how you can find a plate of steaming hot idlis accompanied by the chutney in a jiffy.
