Namita Thapar’s Success Story As CEO Of Emcure Pharmaceuticals

Namita Thapar is an Indian businesswoman and her achievement begins from being an avid learner to an excellent businesswoman. She is India`s main businesswoman and the CEO of Emcure Pharmaceuticals. Namita rose to fame after her recent appearance in Shark Tank India.

She was one of the seven judges that chaired the show and made a lot of investment in many business ideas. Let us take a look into her early life and her journey to success.

Namita’s Early life

Namita Thapar was born on March 21, 1977, in Pune, Maharashtra. She graduated from a school in Pune and later graduated from ICAI with a degree in chartered accounting. She went to Duke University`s Fuqua School of Business to get an MBA degree.

After the program, she spent six years at Guidant Corporation, in finance and marketing. Her education in the business stream has played a vital role in encouraging her to live her true dream to become a businesswoman one day.

Namita’s father, Satish Mehta, was the promoter of Emcure Pharmaceuticals. He had raised money from private equity giant Blackstone.

Her Move Towards Emcure

Namita had married Vikas Thapar by then and was living a fulfilling life in the US. She then decided to come back home and started living her dream after all.

In 2007, she joined Emcure as chief financial officer and started managing multifunctional portfolios like finance, home advertising and marketing, and HR. Today, she manages pan-India operations of over 3,000 medical representatives that contribute to over Rs 1,000 cr. sales.

Her Other Achievements

Additionally, she presides at the forums of Finolex Cables and the Fuqua School of Business. Namita is also the founder and CEO of Incredible Ventures Ltd which is a schooling corporation that teaches entrepreneurship to 11 – 18-year-olds.

She is also a member of the Young Presidents Organization, Pune. Namita was named in the `40 under Forty` award given by the Economic Times in its 2017 Women Ahead List. She is likewise part of the `Champions of Change` program.

Her list of achievements is long and commendable and Namita has become a national icon in the business field today.
