While India is facing a major interstate lockdown till the 31st of March in the wake of the coronavirus, many individuals mocked the Indian billionaires of not doing their part to help their employees and the country as a whole. In a recent state of affairs, Mukesh Ambani, the Founder of the Reliance Group of Industries just implemented a series of measures to help his employees during the COVID-19 epidemic.
Good news for all the Reliance Industries employees! Mukesh Ambani just offered them twice their salaries this month to combat the coronavirus. Wouldn’t you want a boss like that? Every employee with a salary below Rs. 30,000 receives twice their salary to go through this crisis period. As most states are under lockdown, it becomes difficult for everyone to work without worrying about their job securities, and their health.
All the Reliance employees have been asked to work from home. The company will not risk the health of any employee. This, however, has not been implemented for those working in the Jio network’s department, and other household and essential services, including groceries and petroleum. In fact, Reliance has an extended grocery service called Reliance Fresh that is serviceable from 7 am to 11 pm during this shutdown.
The company is also contributing massively to the Maharashtra CM’s fund. In an association with Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), it has set up a 100-bed centre at the Seven Hills Hospital, Mumbai to treat patients who have tested positive for the coronavirus.
