Axis Bank has appointed Rajeev Mantri as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Key Managerial Personnel (KMP), effective September 28, 2026. The appointment was approved by the bank’s Board of Directors at its meeting held on July 18, 2026, following the recommendations of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and the Audit Committee. He will also be part of the bank’s senior management.
The appointment follows the resignation of Puneet Sharma as CFO, which the bank had disclosed on June 29, 2026. Axis Bank said Mantri meets the qualifications prescribed under the Reserve Bank of India’s Commercial Banks – Governance Directions, 2025 for the appointment of a CFO.
Mantri, 49, brings nearly three decades of experience across banking, financial services, credit information, consumer goods and international financial institutions. He currently serves as Executive President and Chief Financial Officer at Bandhan Bank, where he oversees finance and strategy across functions including financial planning and analysis, accounting, reporting, capital and cost management, tax, procurement, payments and investor relations.
Prior to Bandhan Bank, Mantri held leadership roles at Citibank, Standard Chartered and Mashreq across India, Singapore and the UAE. A Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), he also holds a Global Executive MBA from INSEAD Business School, Singapore.
