Info Edge (India) Ltd., the parent company of Naukri.com, has approved the acquisition of the remaining 45.36% stake in edtech platform Coding Ninjas for Rs 39.91 crore, paving the way for the company to become a wholly owned subsidiary. Alongside the acquisition, the board has also approved an additional commitment of up to Rs 180 crore to B8 Fund I, its Category II Alternative Investment Fund, as part of its long-term investment strategy.
The acquisition will be carried out through the purchase of 74,741 equity shares from the founders of Sunrise Mentors Pvt. Ltd., which operates Coding Ninjas. Info Edge currently holds a controlling stake in the company, having first invested in the coding education platform in 2022. Once the transaction is completed, Coding Ninjas will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Info Edge, held directly and through its investment arm, Startup Investments (Holding) Ltd. The deal is expected to close within 45 days, subject to customary conditions.
According to the company’s regulatory filing, the move is aimed at unlocking stronger synergies between Naukri and Coding Ninjas, particularly as demand grows for AI-focused and technology-driven skills. Info Edge also plans to strengthen Coding Ninjas’ growth and profitability while expanding learning offerings for job seekers through its recruitment ecosystem.
Founded in 2016, Coding Ninjas offers online courses in programming, data structures, machine learning, data science and other technology skills. The platform has benefited from the growing demand for upskilling and career-oriented education, especially among engineering students and early-career professionals. For FY26, the company reported revenue of Rs 97.43 crore, up from Rs 67.15 crore a year earlier, although it continued to post a net loss of Rs 13.36 crore.
