Nitu Samra has been appointed interim Chief Executive Officer of Noida International Airport, stepping into the role at a crucial stage of the project’s development. She takes over from Christoph Schnellmann, who has been instrumental in steering the airport’s progress to date.
In the new role, Samra will oversee the airport’s continued development and operational readiness, ensuring momentum is maintained as the greenfield project nears completion. Positioned to be one of India’s largest airports, Noida International Airport is expected to significantly enhance connectivity across the National Capital Region.
Daniel Bircher, Chairman, Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, said, “After the inauguration of Noida International Airport by the Honorable Prime Minister in March 2026, the goal was to enable the start of operations as early as possible. This management change brings the airport into compliance with Bureau of Civil Aviation Security requirements while maintaining continuity in the airport’s leadership team. The newly structured team will support a smooth transition into operations, guided by clear and transparent governance and a strong corporate culture.”
