Hero MotoCorp, in collaboration with FCB Interface, has launched a new campaign for its Glamour X motorcycle that signals a clear shift in how 125cc bikes are marketed in India. “First Love,” the campaign moves away from the traditional focus on mileage and durability, instead highlighting technology and design through a futuristic narrative.
The central film depicts a world where a robot falls in love with the design and features of the Glamour X. To ground this futuristic visual in emotion, the ad uses the classic Bollywood melody ‘Pehla Nasha’ as its soundtrack. The metaphor is straightforward: the motorcycle is desirable enough to evoke “human” feelings even in a machine.
This creative choice by FCB Interface serves to introduce the bike to a younger, tech-savvy generation while using a familiar song to retain mass appeal.
As per the brand, the 125cc motorcycle segment in India has historically been viewed as the “commuter” category functional, economical, and often basic. This campaign aims to change that perception by focusing heavily on the Glamour X’s feature set.
Key among these features is Cruise Control, a technology typically found in much larger, more expensive motorcycles or cars. By introducing this to the 125cc category, Hero MotoCorp is attempting to bridge the gap between “budget” and “premium.” The goal is to offer a sophisticated riding experience without the high price tag associated with performance bikes.
The timing of the campaign is also significant. By launching across television and digital platforms during the Men’s T20 World Cup, Hero is ensuring high visibility across a wide demographic.
By packing the Glamour X with category-first features like cruise control and wrapping it in a high-tech narrative, the company wants to set a new benchmark for technology and innovation bringing future-ready capabilities to today’s riders.
