Reliance Industries’ media and entertainment business reported revenue of Rs 34,197 crore in FY26, with EBITDA of Rs 5,842 crore and net profit of Rs 3,434 crore, according to Akash Ambani at the company’s 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The performance marks the first full year of operations for JioStar following the integration of the group’s media assets, including JioStar, Jio Studios and Network18.
Highlighting the scale of the business, Ambani said JioStar emerged as India’s leading television entertainment network during the year, commanding a 34.7% share of viewership and reaching 389 million daily viewers across multiple languages.
On the digital front, JioHotstar recorded an average of 451 million monthly active users and became the first paid Indian OTT platform to cross one billion downloads. The streaming service is now available on 99% of connected TVs across India.
Sports continued to be a major driver of audience growth, with IPL 2026 attracting more than 700 million viewers on JioHotstar.
Reliance also showcased the early momentum of Tadka, its micro-drama platform launched in April 2026. The service has already crossed 100 million users and introduced interactive features such as voting, live chat and meme creation. According to Ambani, more than 100 million unique users have engaged with these features, generating over 11 billion interactions on the platform.
As part of Reliance’s push into AI-powered content creation, Ambani unveiled JioStar GenAI Media Studio (JAMS), describing it as an AI-native content production ecosystem. “Through JAMS, we aim to nurture a new generation of creative technologists who can combine storytelling with AI to produce premium-quality content for India and the world,” he said.
Beyond streaming, Jio Studios maintained its leadership in film production. Ambani said the Dhurandhar franchise crossed Rs 3,000 crore in worldwide box-office collections, becoming the first Indian film duology in which each film individually surpassed Rs 1,000 crore at the global box office. The performance helped Jio Studios retain its position as India’s highest-grossing Hindi film studio for the third consecutive year.
Meanwhile, Network18 expanded its footprint across television, digital and creator-led formats, further strengthening Reliance’s media presence across platforms.
The update underscores Reliance’s ambition to build a full-stack media and entertainment ecosystem spanning broadcast television, streaming, films, creator content, AI-driven production and digital engagement, while continuing to scale audiences and monetisation across its platforms.
