Bishwarup Chakrabarti has joined Dentsu as General Counsel for South Asia, where he has taken charge of leading the company’s legal strategy across the region.
Chakrabarti has announced the move by sharing an update on LinkedIn.
Prior to joining Dentsu in January 2026, Chakrabarti has spent close to six years at Eros Media World PLC in Mumbai. He has served as General Counsel from April 2021 to December 2025. Before that, from January 2020 to March 2021, he worked as Head Legal – Eros Digital, overseeing legal operations for the company’s digital business during a key phase of growth and restructuring.
Earlier in his career, Chakrabarti has been associated with Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN), where he has held the position of Assistant Vice President from October 2015 to January 2020. Before this, he worked at Viacom18 Media as Associate Director between May 2014 and September 2015.
Chakrabarti has also been the Founder Partner at MKC and Associates from January 2008 to April 2014, based in the Greater Kolkata Area. Prior to establishing his own firm, he has worked as a Senior Associate at Krishna and Saurastri from August 2006 to January 2008. He began his legal career as an Associate at Paras Kuhad and Associates between June 2005 and July 2006, gaining early experience in commercial litigation, civil litigation, and drafting of agreements.
