Shashidhar Sharma has exited WPP Media, where he has most recently served as Head – Programmatic and Ad Operations, bringing to a close a five-year tenure with the organisation.
Sharma has announced his exit through a post shared on LinkedIn, where he reflected on his journey at WPP Media, described the stint as professionally fulfilling, and acknowledged the teams he worked with over the years. He has also stated that he plans to take a short break before revealing his next professional move.
Prior to his exit, Sharma has spent five years and one month at WPP Media (formerly GroupM), from January 2021 to January 2026, as Head – Programmatic and Ad Operations, based in India.
Before joining WPP Media, Sharma worked with FCB Global as Director – Programmatic from July 2019 to May 2020 in Auckland, New Zealand.
Earlier, he held the position of Director – Programmatic at Omnicom Media Group (PHD Media – Auckland) from March 2019 to June 2019. Sharma has also served as Associate Director – Programmatic at OMD India between May 2018 and February 2019.
His earlier experience includes a seven-year-and-eight-month stint at Google in Hyderabad from March 2015 to May 2018 as Operations Lead. Prior to Google, Sharma has worked as Digital Marketing Manager from October 2010 to March 2015, and began his career at Morgensegen Technologies (P) as Senior Associate – Technical Support from August 2006 to October 2010, providing end-user technical support for a major computer technology client.
