India’s digital entertainment landscape has continued to expand sharply, PwC’s Global Entertainment & Media Outlook 2025–29: India perspective has found, with OTT, gaming and music streaming driving the sector’s highest growth momentum.
OTT video services have grown 7.2% YoY in 2024 to USD 2.3 billion revenue, and have been projected to reach USD 3.5 billion by 2029, supported by regional and subscription-led viewership.
Video games and e-sports have generated USD 2.7 billion in 2024, marking a 43.9% YoY surge, and have been projected to touch USD 4.0 billion by 2029 as monetisation matures.
Social and casual gaming has accounted for 88% of market revenues, with subscription and cloud-based formats gaining traction.
India’s music streaming market has doubled since 2020, reaching USD 541 million in 2024 and forecast to hit USD 861 million by 2029. Podcast listening has touched 177 million monthly users, and audio ad spends have been expected to exceed USD 57 million by 2029.
Digital entertainment has increasingly attracted advertisers and diversified revenue streams, riding on affordability and mobile-scale distribution.
