Bain & Company Appoints Shyam Unnikrishnan As Managing Partner- India As Parijat Ghosh Takes Up APAC Role

Global management consulting firm Bain & Company has appointed Shyam Unnikrishnan as the new Managing Partner for its India business, effective April 1, 2025. This development comes in the aftermath of Parijat Ghosh’s elevation at the company to lead the firm’s Healthcare & Life Sciences practice in the APAC region.

Bain & Company Appoints Shyam Unnikrishnan As Managing Partner- India As Parijat Ghosh Takes Up APAC Role

One of the leading global management consulting firms- Bain & Company has appointed Shyam Unnikrishnan as the new Managing Partner for its India business, effective April 1, 2025, as a successor to Parijat Ghosh who will now be leading the firm’s Healthcare & Life Sciences practice in the APAC region.

In his new role, Unnikrishnan will be responsible for overseeing the country’s growth, strategy, people, and operations.

That said, with nearly two decades of global consulting experience of working across Bain’s Sydney, Atlanta, and New Delhi offices amongst others, Unnikrishnan is currently based in Bengaluru and has advised clients across multiple regions, bringing extensive cross-market expertise. Most recently, he also led Bain’s Innovation & Design practice in Asia Pacific (APAC) and is a leader in the Retail, Consumer Products, Strategy and Digital practices. 

Bringing with him a deep expertise in full-potential transformation, market entry, sales acceleration, customer experience enhancement, commercial due diligence, and merger integration, he has also been a recipient of Bain’s Bright-Dix Award, the annual global award for excellence in developing people.

This development comes in the aftermath of Parijat Ghosh being elevated at the company to lead the firm’s Healthcare & Life Sciences practice in the APAC region.

Ghosh comes with more than 25 years of management consulting experience in India, the United States, and other emerging markets and has deep experience across health systems and the different stakeholders in the complex healthcare eco-system and has led multiple revenue, customer, digital and cost transformations. 

He is experienced in corporate & business unit strategy, M&A & integration, transformation and change management across global multinational companies, leading APAC companies and financial investors in Healthcare & Life Sciences.
