As we gear up to celebrate the 77th Independence Day on 15th August 2024, a sense of pride and enthusiasm is filling up the air. With the tricolour in full view, there is excitement, fervour and a sentiment to recognize the contribution of myriad individuals, many of whom gave up their lives in making India a free land.

Over the years, brands have released inspiring campaigns around Independence Day. Some take us back in time, while some highlight present-day scenarios.

Let us check eight such beautiful Independence Day campaigns.

1. Parle-G Armed Forces

Based on the real-life story of Ankit Singh from Satna, this film-cum-ad campaign is a tribute to the soldiers of India, who ensure our safety by putting their lives at risk.
The campaign highlights how behind a tough exterior lies a simple human and how often a soldier’s sacrifices go unnoticed.

2. Bajaj Avenger #RideYourIndependence

This ad is based on a poignant quote from Mahatma Gandhi – “The day a woman can walk freely on the roads at night, that day we can say that India has achieved Independence”.

With a soul-stirring background score and dialogues, the ad expresses how India will attain true freedom when women in the country are safe to express themselves in a way they want to.

3. Micromax #SaveTheTiranga

Indian flags are produced and used by the dozen during Independence Day in the country, often by children who are seen selling them at various places. But once 15th August passes, all of these flags are seen lying around without being put to any other use.

This ad by Micromax urged people to use digital flags to show respect, thereby avoiding the unnecessary use of paper, avoiding child labor, and the resultant mess next day.

4. JSW #ThinkBeautiful

When our thoughts are beautiful, is when we can make our country a beautiful one.

This ad from the paints brand, stresses on the importance of good thinking that have the power to make our country a beautiful one.

5. Tata Tea Premium #DeshKaGarv

The past 7+ decades of independence have been marked with many important events that have shaped our country and made us proud.

This ad campaign from the tea brand invokes a sense of nostalgia coupled with pride and makes us relive those inspiring moments that helped shape India into the one it is today.

6. CEAT #RidingHopeRidingChange

This campaign from CEAT shows how common ordinary men are heroes in their own way. This ad is a tribute to all of those who instill hope with their out-of-the-way efforts that make our country a better place.

7. Bajaj Allianz Life #PlankToThank

This brilliant initiative by Bajaj Allianz was launched in 2022 to celebrate 75 years of independence.

The campaign urged everyone to thank our soldiers who remain awake and alert just so that we can sleep peacefully, by doing planks and posting videos of the same on social media, which will help in contributing to support the livelihood of retired defense personnel.

8. Cash Karo – Bachat ki Azaadi

An inherent trait that many of us possess is that of bargaining. And though it is a normal practice in India, it is important to understand where, when and how much to bargain.
A meagre 10/- or 20/- may not mean much to us, but could impact local vendors.

The ad highlights this concept beautifully.
